Sometimes the simplest treats end up being the most fun. With just three ingredients, these festive brownies are easy to put together, and kids or guests will love grabbing one off the tray.
How to Make Santa Hat Brownies
Here are the ingredients you need to make these Santa hat brownies, plus step by step instructions for how to make them.
Ingredients
- 9×13 inch pan of prepared and cooled brownies (use a mix or your favorite recipe)
- ½-⅔ cup red cupcake icing or frosting (we used the tube of icing because they didn’t have red frosting)
- ⅓ cup vanilla frosting

Step by Step Instructions
1. Use a sharp knife to cut the pan of cooled brownies in half lengthwise. From each strip, slice 7 triangle shapes to form the “hats.” Trim away the uneven end pieces and set those aside for snacking.

2. Place the triangle brownies on a parchment-lined tray or baking sheet to keep things tidy while decorating.
3. Using the star tip that came with the icing (or the same Wilton tip if using frosting), pipe the red icing onto each brownie. Starting about ½ inch below the top point of each triangle, pipe back and forth in rows until you’re about ½ inch from the bottom edge, creating the red “hat.”

4. Fill a piping bag with vanilla frosting and attach a Wilton 22 tip (or a similar round tip). Pipe a small dot at the very top of each hat for the pom-pom, then finish with a straight line of frosting along the bottom to complete the trim.

5. Serve and enjoy!

That’s all it takes to make Santa hat brownies. They’re a great option if you need something festive without spending hours in the kitchen. Just bake (or buy) your brownies, add the decorations, and you’ve got a Christmas dessert that’s ready to share.
