Ingredients

  • Red pepper, sliced
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Raspberries
  • Strawberries
  • Pepperoni
  • Charizo
  • Pearl mozzarella
  • Yogurt covered raisins
  • White chocolate dipped pretzels
  • Variety of crackers (different flavors, shapes and sizes is best)
  • Pepperjack cheese, sliced
  • White cheddar cheese, sliced
  • Brie
  • Provolone cheese, sliced
  • Blackberries
  • Blueberries
  • Fruit jam of choice

Instructions

  • If desired, line your serving board with parchment paper to make cleanup easier and to prevent staining from juicy fruits or soft cheeses. Set the board aside.
  • Slice the red pepper into thin strips for easy grabbing. If you'd like, slice the strawberries in halves or quarters, depending on their size and look you're going for.
  • On each skewer or toothpick, place one cherry tomato, one mozzarella pearl, and one blackberry. Set aside as a colorful and structured addition to the board.
  • Use a small star-shaped cookie cutter to cut stars out of provolone cheese slices. These will add a fun and festive touch to the layout.
  • Using the same cookie cutter, carefully remove a star shape from the center of the brie rind. Spoon your favorite fruit jam into the cutout for a pop of color and flavor.
  • Optional: Make a pepperoni flower. Fold a pepperoni slice around the shot rim of the shot glass. Add another slice to overlap about ½ of the first pepperoni. Continue overlapping slices all the way around the rim several times. Gently turn the glass upside down to release the flower.
  • Have everything ready. Before you begin assembling, make sure all your ingredients are prepped, sliced, and grouped. This makes the arranging process much smoother.
  • Start building your board. Begin with the largest or most eye-catching items, like the brie, crackers, and skewers. Placing these first will help anchor your layout.
  • Add medium-sized items. Arrange sliced peppers, meats, strawberries, and cheese slices around the larger items to start filling out the board.
  • Fill in the gaps. Use smaller items such as blueberries, raspberries, and yogurt-covered raisins to fill empty spaces and create a full, abundant look.
  • Adjust for balance. Check the distribution of colors - red, white, and blue should be spread out evenly. Rearrange as needed to avoid clustering similar colors too closely.
  • Place the star-shaped cheese slices over darker berries to make them pop and add a final patriotic touch.
  • Your patriotic snack board is ready to serve!

Notes

Quantities will vary depending on the size of your board, so adjust as needed. For storage, it’s best to keep each item in separate containers. If the board is assembled, cover tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to 2 days.
