Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 15- ounce can of Manwich
  • 8 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Chopped parsley, optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat for easy cleanup.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon or spatula as it browns. Cook until there’s no pink left, about 6-8 minutes. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Reduce the heat to low, then stir in the canned Manwich (or your favorite sloppy joe sauce). Let the mixture simmer gently for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. This helps the flavors come together and thickens the sauce slightly.
  • While the meat is simmering, slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally using a serrated knife. Try to keep both halves intact as one slab - it’ll make assembling easier.
  • Place the bottom half of the rolls on the prepared baking sheet, cut side up.
  • Spoon the sloppy joe mixture evenly across the rolls. Make sure to spread it out all the way to the edges so every bite is full of flavor.
  • Layer the cheddar cheese slices over the meat mixture, overlapping slightly if needed to cover all the sliders.
  • Carefully place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer to close the sliders.
  • In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter (about 30-45 seconds). Stir in the brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth and fully combined.
  • Use a pastry brush or spoon to generously coat the tops of the rolls with the butter mixture, letting it soak into the bread a bit.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds evenly over the buttered tops for a little texture and a classic slider look.
  • Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
  • Remove from the oven and let the sliders rest for about 5 minutes. This helps them set slightly and makes cutting easier.
  • Transfer the sliders to a cutting board, garnish with chopped parsley if you’d like a fresh pop of color.
  • Slice along the roll seams to separate into individual sliders. Serve warm and enjoy every bite!
